Calvi-Brambilla chooses Caleido for ambitious project

Renowned firm Calvi-Brambilla chooses Caleido for an ambitious new interior renovation project.

In the heart of Milan, a stone’s throw from Piazza Cadorna, the new project signed by studio Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla updates a historic 1912 apartment in a post-modern and contemporary key. The key points of the operation lie in the organicity of the forms, the brightness of the spaces and, in general, in the lightness of a structural intervention so integrated into the original design as to be almost imperceptible.

The references to the belle époque meneghina harmonize with stylistic choices all devoted to comfort, transparency, and livability of spaces, obtained also thanks to the choice of a total white look, in the various shades of white.

In this context, the twin columns of Ottolungo, designed by Gabriele & Oscar Burattiarchitetti ,find an almost natural collocation in the living area, where they act as a counterpoint to the rounded jambs of the entrance door, rigorously without a door. It is here that the ability of the radiant element to transcend its function and become one, aesthetically coherent, with the architecture that houses it is manifested in a plastic way: an element on which the eye does not stumble, but is accompanied by it in the exploration of space.
