Caleido warms up the Radisson Collection Hotel, in the rooms of the Palazzo Touring Club, Milan

The redevelopment and restoration project of Palazzo Bertarelli, one of the finest expressions of late Art Nouveau in Milan and historic headquarters of the Italian Touring Club, now the new Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Touring Club Milano by Studio Marco Piva, has been completed.

The Milanese building named after geographer and speleologist Luigi Vittorio Bertarelli, one of the founders of the Italian Touring Club, has been fully restored and redeveloped through an operation of great cultural interest.

Studio Marco Piva, to enhance the historical heritage of the building, still owned by the TCI, found inspiration in the theme of travel that has always permeated its rooms. The intervention restored the building built in 1915, designed by Achille Binda, to its original refinement: the 5-star Radisson Collection hotel is proposed as a reference for an evolved tourism in dialogue with the city in a timeless itinerary suspended between past and future.

Among the main areas of intervention: the recovery of the monumental façade, the response to new needs with the change of use and the conversion of spaces, while maintaining a link with the pre-existing functions. All under the banner of a project with attention to detail that combines historical and modern values.

Inside the bathrooms of the rooms, 93 radiators from Caleido’s Ice collection in an electric version were installed, chosen for their pure, essential design and certified high performance.

In this fresco of historical and contemporary together, Studio Marco Piva custom designed most of the furnishings, which, through their choice of materials, finishes and meticulous attention to detail, evoke what in the common imagination are elements linked to travel and the founding history of the Italian Touring Club.
